A Serene Saturday at Madhuban Shriram Spandhana Apartments

Image
Introduction: Today, Saturday the 25th of March 2023, marks a beautiful day at Madhuban Shriram Spandhana Apartments. Waking up early to the golden rays of the sun, I am filled with a sense of gratitude and excitement for the day ahead. With a myriad of activities planned, I am eager to embrace the day and all its simple joys. Morning Bliss: Peering down from my balcony, I watch people stroll along the newly laid grass lawn, enjoying the crisp morning air. The laughter of children fills the atmosphere as they emerge from their homes, ready to play and revel in the warm embrace of the sun. A Spiritual Journey: As is my usual routine, I prepare to visit the Chokkanatha Swamy Temple. The divine aura and the delicious prasad always bring a sense of serenity to my soul. Today, my wife normally gives me flowers from our terrace garden, adding an extra touch of beauty to the temple offerings. A Green Oasis: After the temple visit, I will take a leisurely walk through the serene and lush surr...

Wedding Memories - North Usman

Image
As I stand in front of the tree on North Usman Road, memories of my wedding day come flooding back. It was 1990, and my beloved and I got married at the Vijaylakshmi Kalyana Mandapa, which used to be located just across the street. Returning to North Usman Road all these years later, I am struck by how much has changed. The Kalyana Mandapa is no longer there, and the street has undergone significant development and modernization. Yet, despite these changes, I still feel a deep sense of nostalgia as I stand in front of the tree and recall the memories of that special day. North Usman Road is not just a physical location, but a repository of memories and emotions for many people, including myself. My wedding day at the Vijaylakshmi Kalyana Mandapa on this very road will always be a cherished memory that brings me joy and nostalgia, no matter how much time may pass

Timeless Elegance: Why the Orient Automatic Watch is the Ultimate Wrist Companion

Image
Orient Automatic gifted by my son-in-law Giri Let me tell you about this Orient Automatic Watch that my son-in-law Giri gifted me. At first, I was a bit hesitant about it. I'm someone who always prefers modern gadgets and electronic devices over old-school mechanical ones. However, I quickly came around to this watch and I've been hooked on it ever since. This watch is seriously impressive. It has a classic design that's both elegant and timeless. It's not flashy or gaudy, but it's still got that wow factor that will get people to take notice. And, the best part is that it powers itself through the movement of the wearer's wrist. No need for batteries or chargers, just good old-fashioned mechanical energy. I've got to give Giri major props for hooking me up with this watch. He knew that I'd eventually come around to appreciating a more natural and mechanical gadget, and he was right. This watch has become an indispensable part of my daily routine, and I ...

From Draw of Lots to our first Dream Home: My Journey to Jeevan Bima Nagar

Have you ever dreamed of owning a beautiful house, where you can make countless happy memories with your loved ones? Well, dreams do come true! I'm here to share with you the story of how I managed to get the allotment of a Jeevan Bima Nagar house, where I spent eight prosperous and happy years from 1991 to 1999. The journey to get there was full of unexpected twists and turns, and it all started in September of 1990. That year, the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) had organized a grand event in the Town Hall of Bangalore for the allotment of houses through a draw of lots. It was a widely advertised and well-organized electronic event, leveraging ECIL technology and software. As it was the first electronic draw, the procedure was explained in detail, and the audience was assured that what would normally take two to three days would be over swiftly in two to three hours. LIC was allotting four types of houses, P, L, M, and N, and the draw took place in reverse sequence, with N being...

A proud father's reflection on his daughter's Investiture Ceremony

Image
This is an adaptation of an earlier blog that I wrote on Friday 25th June 2010. As parents, we all want to see our children succeed and achieve remarkable things in life. And when they do, it's a moment of immense pride and joy that we want to share with the world. This was exactly how I felt when our daughter was crowned as the captain of the school at her investiture ceremony back in 2010. The ceremony was a grand affair, with each group having its own designated boy and girl captain and vice-captain, and a school captain and vice-captain as well. It was a beautiful morning with a blue sky and white clouds, and the event was held in the open grounds of the school, creating a serene atmosphere. As I watched our daughter take her oath to serve the school as the captain, I felt a sense of pride and admiration for her. It was a moment that I wanted to capture and preserve for her to cherish in her later years. So, I took photos and videos of the ceremony, including the moment when we...
