The Spellbinding Beginning Once upon a sun-kissed summer in 2022, we embarked on a mesmerizing adventure to the heart of the dynamic Greater Seattle area. Home to over 3 million residents, this thriving region captivated us with its magnetic allure, ranking among the top 10 areas in the United States for growth, income, technology, business activity, and educational attainment. As we arrived in mid-July, we were instantly entranced by the spectacular vista of Seattle Downtown, where the iconic Space Needle soared proudly against the breathtaking backdrop of the majestic Mount Rainier.

Bellevue: A Picturesque Paradise Found
Our enchanting escapade led us to the magical haven of Redmond/Bellevue, a verdant oasis teeming with parks and awe-inspiring views. It was here that we resided with our daughter and son-in-law, basking in the warmth of family love. In this emerald city of parks and lakes, we reveled in scenic roads, abundant walking paths, and trails, while cheerful locals greeted us with radiant smiles. Nature and urban life danced together in perfect harmony, creating a sublime sanctuary that enchanted our hearts.

A Serendipitous Discovery: The Buzzing Microsoft Commons
As we delved deeper into the heart of Bellevue, we stumbled upon the sprawling Microsoft campus, where we unearthed a treasure trove of outdoor facilities open to the public, such as walking tracks, playgrounds, and seating areas.

The effervescent Microsoft Commons, with its pulsating energy, became an integral part of our daily adventure. We marveled at the dynamic synergy of Microsoft employees and the general public, who united every evening to indulge in cricket, football, volleyball, and tennis, or simply unwind with leisurely strolls, team lunches, and dinners.
Celebrating the Bonds of Friendship and Family
Our dazzling journey was embellished with heartwarming reunions with cherished friends and relatives. We spent unforgettable evenings savoring laughter, heartfelt stories, and the inimitable embrace of their hospitality.

The Sacred Symphony of Greater Seattle
Though we hail from the spiritual temple town of Kumbakonam in South India, we unearthed a vibrant spiritual pulse in Greater Seattle. We explored a myriad of temples, each humming with lively festivities and celebrations, and felt a profound sense of connection as we participated in the customs and rituals.Greater Seattle catered to our passions for cricket, temples, festivals, and movies, delighting us with its rich tapestry of cultural offerings. We even watched two Tamil films, feeling right at home amidst the exuberant whistles from the audience.

A Majestic Transformation: The Turning of Seasons
During our four-month sojourn, we witnessed the city's metamorphosis as summer gracefully yielded to autumn. The colors evolved, casting a mesmerizing spell on the cityscape with a fresh palette of hues.

The Grand Finale
Our unforgettable adventure reached its crescendo as November 2022 drew to a close. This enchanting chapter, our first extended stay outside India since 1998, left a lasting impression on our souls.
As we bid adieu to the captivating realm of Greater Seattle, the memories, the people, and the experiences intertwined in a beautiful tapestry that would remain in our hearts forever.
Returning home, we carried with us the gifts of renewed energy, fresh ideas, and an eagerness to weave the magic of our journey into the fabric of our lives. And so, we send forth a wish that others, too, may experience the spellbinding charm of Greater Seattle – a place that will undoubtedly paint a beaming smile upon their faces.
