Surrender: The Power of Acceptance, Openness to Learning and Changing

As I reflect on my 58 years of life, I realize that while God has blessed me with countless gifts and opportunities, there have been moments of struggle and hardship that have left me feeling powerless and uncertain. From the challenges of navigating personal relationships to the global impact of COVID-19, I have learned that there are many things beyond my control.
In these moments, I have discovered that there is one word that has the power to transform our perspective and bring us closer to a state of contentment and peace.
That word is Surrender. Through the act of surrendering, we can learn to accept the practical limitations and constraints of our lives and embrace a more positive and empowering mindset that allows us to learn, grow, and thrive in the face of adversity
In this blog, I will be sharing my personal understanding of surrender. Please note that my perspectives may differ from the common understanding, especially when viewed from a spiritual perspective. I apologize in advance if I have misrepresented or misunderstood any aspect of surrender. Through this blog, I hope to offer my insights and experiences on surrender, which have helped me to navigate life's challenges with a more positive and empowering mindset.
Surrender is a powerful tool that allows us to accept the practical limitations and constraints of our lives and use them as opportunities to learn and grow. It involves letting go of our ego, desires, and personal ambitions, and embracing a higher purpose. Surrender is not about giving up or accepting defeat, but about accepting what is and finding a positive twist to observe, learn, and benefit from the right sources.
  1. Accepting is the first step towards surrender. It involves acknowledging the reality of our situation and accepting it for what it is. This does not mean giving up or resigning ourselves to our circumstances, but rather acknowledging them and finding ways to work within them. By accepting our situation, we can release ourselves from the burden of resistance and open ourselves up to new possibilities.
  2. An open mind is the second key element of surrender. It means being willing to learn and grow, even when it is uncomfortable or challenging. An open mind allows us to see things from different perspectives and consider new possibilities. It also helps us to be more adaptable and resilient in the face of change.
  3. Learning is the third key element of surrender. It involves being receptive to new ideas and insights, and actively seeking out opportunities to learn and grow. Learning allows us to expand our knowledge and skills, and develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us. It also helps us to be more creative and resourceful in finding solutions to our problems.
  4. The right sources are the fourth and final key element of surrender. They are the people, places, and experiences that can help us to learn and grow in a positive and meaningful way. The right sources may include mentors, coaches, friends, family members, books, courses, or other resources that can inspire us and provide us with new insights and perspectives. I have been very very lucky on this front.
In conclusion, Surrender is a powerful tool for personal growth and development. It involves accepting the practical limitations and constraints of our lives, having an open mind, being willing to learn, and seeking out the right sources to help us along the way. By surrendering to a higher purpose, we can find inner peace and fulfillment and live a more purposeful and meaningful life.
