A Trip Down the Memory Lane - From My Product Development Journey - First 14 years: 1987 to 2001

Over the years, I've had the privilege to be a part of several innovative product planning, engineering, and rollout initiatives. Each project has left an indelible mark on my career, and I am grateful for the opportunities and the appreciation received from customers. I recently scanned some old archives and decided to share these customer appreciations on this blog. Join me on this trip down memory lane as we revisit some of these memorable projects.

Indian Telephone Industries:
Realtime Operating Systems (RTOS, IRMX) and Voice and Data Switching Products
1987 to 1990
I had the opportunity to work on cutting-edge RTOS and voice and data switching products, with some of our clients being the Army. This experience allowed me to travel to around 25 locations along the western border for installation. These projects sharpened my technical and problem-solving skills while giving me a sense of pride in contributing to national defense.
Airline Terminal Communication Products
This covers the first 14 years of my journey - 1987 to 2001
I had the opportunity to work on cutting-edge RTOS and voice and data switching products, with some of our clients being the Army. This experience allowed me to travel to around 25 locations along the western border for installation. These projects sharpened my technical and problem-solving skills while giving me a sense of pride in contributing to national defense.

SwIssair / SITA- 1991/92
Working on airline terminal communication products for renowned clients like SITA, Swissair, and Singapore Airlines was both exciting and challenging. These products communicated through the SITA airline network, connecting airlines and enhancing their operations. The project exposed me to the complexities of the aviation industry and the importance of seamless communication.
SWIFT (Belgium) PC Connect (1992-93, 95-2000)
PC Connect was a software product designed for SWIFT message entry, validation, transmission, and reconciliation. This innovative solution catered to financial institutions relying on SWIFT, the global messaging network for secure financial communication. Customers appreciated the user-friendly interface and robust capabilities of PC Connect, which greatly improved their day-to-day operations.
Tata Unisys Ltd.- CD-Gen (1991, 94/95)
CD-Gen was a trailblazing project that involved CD-Image, CD-ROM, and CD-I/Video CD writing software development. It was one of the coolest and most technologically challenging projects I've ever worked on. The project's success hinged on my ability to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in technology and understand the evolving market needs.
DECOS Netherlands A document management System

1999/2000
The Netgateway project aimed to create an Internet Commerce Center (ICC), a "Mall of Malls" or "Stores Online" framework. This ambitious endeavor sought to bring together multiple online stores under a single platform, simplifying the online shopping experience for users.
CBSI / Stores Online Frameworks 1999/2000
Building upon the Netgateway project, StoresOnline frameworks aimed to simplify the creation and management of e-commerce websites. This project involved developing a user-friendly interface and a powerful backend to accommodate the diverse needs of online businesses during the e-commerce boom. This experience reinforced the importance of designing scalable and adaptable solutions to cater to the ever-evolving digital landscape.
CBSI/Miradiant/MoneyTran 2000/2001
Miradiant, also known as MoneyTran, was a B2B invoice presentment and payment framework that incorporated international invoice refactoring, netting, and pooling. This project demonstrated the importance of streamlined and efficient payment solutions in a globalized business environment. Customers appreciated the seamless integration and functionality of the framework, which greatly facilitated their international business transactions.

During my first 14 years in product development, I took complete ownership of a wide range of innovative projects, from operating systems to e-commerce platforms. My focus was always on automating processes to boost efficiency and productivity. I was also actively involved in the Change Control Board (CCB) of many products. These experiences shaped me into the versatile and knowledgeable professional I am today. As I reflect on this journey. I am grateful for the challenges and successes that have made me who I am, and I look forward to tackling new projects in the future. My journey through innovation has taught me the importance of adaptability, staying up-to-date with technology, and understanding the needs of the market.
