Living in the Contrast Sandwich: My Journey in Challaghatta

Discover Challaghatta: A Cultural Sandwich, Where Shiny Skyscrapers and Humble Dwellings  Create the Perfect Urban Harmony!

Imagine a sandwich, but it's not just any normal sandwich - it's a place! A special place in India called Challaghatta.

On one slice of our sandwich bread, there's a shiny, bustling area called Embassy Golf Links. On the other slice is an old airport where fast, loud jets zoom overhead, like rockets shooting into space!

Now, the heart of our sandwich, the best part, is a place I've been calling home since September 2008 - the Shriram Spandhana Apartments in Challaghatta. This apartment is like a tall, golden tower of homes in the middle of the big city, Bangalore. It's bustling with life and glows like a lantern.

Just steps away from these shiny apartments, Challaghatta feels like a warm, friendly village. Here, there are small houses, friendly faces, and the peaceful presence of three temples: a Rama Temple, a Hanuman Temple, and a Shiva Temple.

The Rama Temple is particularly close to my heart, as the deities there are from my native town, Kumbakonam. The Hanuman Temple, on the other hand, is hard to miss because of the towering statue of Hanuman. It's so tall that they use a state-of-the-art lift for rituals and decorations. These temples bring a sense of calm and happiness amidst all the hustle and bustle.

This part of Challaghatta, with its traditional charm and small homes, may not shine like gold, but they radiate a warmth and welcome that's priceless.

So, even though Challaghatta is nestled between big, busy places, it keeps its unique charm. It's a place where shiny skyscrapers and humble village homes, the noise and the quiet, the new and the old, coexist. All these elements come together to create something wonderful, just like in a sandwich. Living here in Shriram Spandhana, amidst all these contrasts, continues to be an amazing adventure that I treasure every day!
